I used to be the tax refund vacation girl.
You know – where the type of vacation you go on, depends on the size of your tax refund??? Yeah, that was me.
Because while we don’t live paycheck to paycheck, we also didn’t have thousands of dollars to spend on a week-long trip anywhere. I always looked at those other people who took big trips every year and wondered how they did it.
But it’s different now. We are able to afford those things. Regardless of our refund check. Guilt-free.
I gave myself a goal last year of saving my extra coaching money for our 10-year anniversary, where we hoped to go to Hawaii.
And I gave myself a year to do it. But it happened in less than 6 months. Heck it happened so fast, I was thinking we should have planned to go sooner.
But here we are - living out something I dreamed of for so long. 8 days of pure bliss to spend with my one and only. To celebrate our 10 year anniversary.
I think back to what would have happened if I listened to the doubters, the nay-sayers, the people who secretly roll their eyes and walk away because of what I’m doing.
And I’m thankful I didn’t listen to them. Because this is MY life - MY dreams - MY moment of (selfish) pride that no one can take from me. This opportunity has changed my life in so many ways, including allowing me to do the things I never thought possible, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
What would be your vacation destination of choice, if you had extra money in the bank??
